Thomson Spirit

The accommodation on board the Thomson Spirit ship is a selection of cabins and suites to suit a range of budgets and personal preferences. The Presidential Suite is the top exclusive accommodation option available which is double the size of some of the other cabins and has everything both comfort and entertainment wise with king size beds, lounge, television and DVD player not to mention the Premier Service available to you! The standard cabins are available on the out (with a porthole) and inside of the ship and these are relatively spacious with one large or two twin beds depending on your preference as well as wardrobes, en suites and a television. To ensure full comfort at all times all cabins have air conditioning!

Food wise, there will be something to fit a variety of tastes on the Thomson Spirit with several restaurants, cafes and of course bars around the ship. The two waiter service restaurants offer luxury cuisine a la carte or if you prefer there is a buffet restaurant with outdoor eating area and international cuisine nights throughout your stay. Additional outdoor eating can be found on the deck at the Grill which offers barbecues, salads and other snack foods during lunch.

Music, casinos, a cinema and the several bars will keep you entertained come sunset! The music consists of sophisticated cabaret and classical music or piano music in other one of the bars. The relaxing ambience across the bar or the fun from the casino can be a great way of exploring the new cities and ports which you have visited on your cruise earlier in the day. Reviewers have commented that the entertainment and type of passenger varies depending on the cruise itinerary, with Norwegian Fjords attracting a different type of passenger to the Med itineraries.

I am a regular on cruise holidays and would definitely recommend the Thomson Sprit ship as it is one of my particular favourites. Overall the ship is as big as some of the others I have stayed on but definitely more spacious with less noise and guests on board which is perfect for those looking for a relatively relaxing cruise.

My Mediterranean cruise on the Thomson Spirit ship was the first cruise of my husband and I and we were overjoyed! The week was fabulous not to mention a great selection of ports were visited! The entertainment on board was classical and nothing like the loud disco music that you end up listening to on many other ships which made this a refreshing change. Food on board was similar to what you find in other standard cruises and hotels, a nice choice with one restaurant open 24 hours so you don’t need to stick to the café grill for lunch. I will definitely be booking the Thomson Spirit again but perhaps a different cruise so we can get to know new places!

I stayed in a standard cabin on the Thomson Spirit and it was fine, everything you need and great for the price especially as you don’t spend too much time in there you will either be on the decks with the Mediterranean weather and sea views or touring the sights during the stops.

We went last October half term on Thomsom Spirit, dates were right, about the only thing that was. A very tired ship, food was good, but not up to usual standard. Cabins were fixed beds, well apart! To be fair though, the entertainment was good, they worked very hard and the Spirit is their worst ship. But it would need to be a very good deal AND dates would need to be right before we go on a Thomson ship again.

We have just spent a very enjoyable two weeks on the Spirit purely because the itinerary was superb, Aegean and Holy Land, and the entertainers worked so hard. The ship is tired, all handrails were very sticky and our beds (like most of them) were in an L shape and couldn’t be moved. It wasn’t what we wanted on a 2 week holiday we had saved all year for. Our cabin toilet failed to flush on four days of the first week. We can’t fault the enthusiasm of the entertainers, though, or the organisation of the excursions.
