Launched in 2000, Explorer Of The Seas is a ‘Voyager-Class’ cruise ship which is operated by Royal Caribbean International. The large ship has a capacity for over 3,000 passengers and 1,180 crew members. The ship is also often used by Scientists who are working in the ‘Atmospheric and Oceanograhic’ on-board laboratory which is operated by Miami’s University Marine department. Explorer Of The Sea sails all year round and based in Bayonne, New Jersey offers cruises to Bahamas, Bermuda, Caribbean and New England. In 2014, the ship is due for an extensive refurbishment with many new features to be added, including an outdoor movie screen, WiFi throughout the ship, new lounges, bars and restaurants and upgraded public areas.
