A mid sized cruise which suitably wows with family friendly facilities as well as entertainment, bars and a great choice of food can be found on the P&O Oceana.
During the day the Oceana hosts a selection of entertainment and things to do such as seminars, educational talks or fun activities such as ballroom dancing. Shopping on the Oceana at the several designer boutiques would take up several hours and you will get the opportunity to pick up some potential designer bargains. Alternatively you could choose to use the sport and leisure facilities which include a sports court, gym with a view, spa, lots of swimming pools and the golf fans will enjoy testing their swing on the simulator. As it is a family friendly cruise there are selection of children’s clubs and facilities spread through the decks.
Evening entertainment follows a typical schedule of a comedic magician, cabaret acts and live music in the main lounges. Or you can choose to spend your evenings in the theatre, the fun bars or the casino.
Accommodation on the Oceana can be considered to be the standard size for a mid sized ship with the smallest inside cabins starting off at approximately 137ft and the main suites at a much larger 638 square feet. Cabins have all of the standard features you will find in all other P&O ships such as a pamper pack, 2 single beds and en suite facilities whereas the mini suites and suites get to enjoy additional extras such as more space, coffee machines and lots of extras such as magazines and fruit to welcome you on board.
The Oceana also has a comprehensive selection of eating destinations so you can experiment with the different restaurants and cafes that are available both inside with a formal atmosphere and fine dining or a more relaxed al fresco experience with grilled food. For the quick snack during the day there are cafes and an ice cream parlour and for something different to the normal coffee shops why not try out the Coffee and chocolate bar?
P&O Oceana,
As somewhat regular cruise go-ers we were excited to try out a cruise on the Oceana due to the entertainment aspect with lots of things such as the casino and nightclub being perfect for us and offering something different from the other cruises. The general decor of the ship is elegant with lots of marble and wood and the cabins were clean and tidy.
All in all a very good cruise and will definitely cruise with P&O again, preferably from Southampton.
My first family cruise was on the Oceana with my wife and two children, all in all this was a great holiday but we were a little surprised at the small amount of other children on board for our children to socialise with, on the plus side it did mean that the kids clubs, activities and nursery had a higher staff to child ratio. Both of our children, 8 and 5 were happy with the choice of food available as were we.
we sailed on oceana we have sailed cruiseses over 20 times ,po oceana in our mind is the worst shipfor entertainment food and cabin size ,the food there is little choice the English so called carvery is a small joint of meat that the carver seems reluclantly to give you there is never a good choice of veg useually none ,,bread is only 2 sections white roll or brown roll end of ,sweets are of very few compared to most ships,,,fruit must be a delicacy as theres allways one small bowl with little fruit on it ,,the entertainment is good in the theatre ut every were else is rubbish ,
