Built in 1992, the Star Clipper is a four masted sailing ship which has been designed as a small cruise ship. The ship is owned and operated by the Swedish Company, Star Clippers Limited. With a capacity for just 170 passengers, the beautiful ship offers an intimate and cozy environment for passengers to enjoy an unique sailing experience to some of the most beautiful exotic destinations in the world. Sailing all year round, the luxurious ship offers cruises to some of the most untouched spots, including destinations in the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Baltic Sea and Costa Rica, to name just a few.
Dining and Drinking On-Board Star Clipper
Passengers on-board The Star Clipper can experience exquisite cuisine prepared to perfection in the elegant and stylish dining room with live piano music every evening to add to the ambiance. Breakfast and lunch both consist of lavish buffets, with the evening meal been a sit down affair with an open seating policy so guests can choose when, where and with whom they would like to dine. Other dining options include an early breakfast served in the lounge, afternoon tea and snacks at the outdoor Tropical Bar and late night snacks which are also available in the lounge.
The stylish Piano Bar is the ultimate place for guests to unwind at the end of the day with a refreshing drink and regular live piano music. There is also an outdoor bar, The Tropical Bar which offers a wide choice of cocktails, spirits, beers and wines. The bar is often used to serve lunch during the summer for an al-fresco dining experience.
Activities and Features
The Star Clipper has a large outdoor deck where guests can enjoy a leisurely stroll or take part in the morning gymnastics and aerobic classes that are offered by the on-board fitness instructors. Other on-board activities offered include massage treatments on top deck, 2 small pools to relax and unwind in and daily diving programs with guided diving and snorkeling trips arranged.
For the more adventurous, a climb up the mast to one of the passengers crows nest lookouts is a definite must. The ship also offers various water sports including banana boats, peddle boats and water-skiing when the ship is docked at some locations. Star Clipper also features a small but well stocked library which has 2 desk top computers for guests to check their emails or surf the net.
